2020 has been nicknamed the year of perfect vision.  Because it is also an election year we are hearing a lot about candidate’s visions for the future of our country.  Your challenge for 2020, then, is to make a quilted representation of “Vision”, however you wish to interpret its meaning.   Your interpretation must include 10 stars and 10 flying geese (no more, no less of each of these.)

In keeping with our year long celebration of the guild’s 40th anniversary, this year’s challenge has two requirements.  First, it should be your interpretation of the word Celebrate!, and second, it should incorporate something old and something new.  Members are still welcome to join the challenge.  The cost is $2 (see Shawn to pay) and the quilts are due at the October meeting.

This year’s mystery challenge celebrates the 16th year of the 21st century. Your challenge entry must: Include a 16 patch block in some way, shape or form in your quilt Use 16 fabrics (no more, no less) on the front of the quilt (so the binding counts, but not the backing) To get you started one of your 16 fabrics is provided for you Have fun! Quilts are due at the October DOQ meeting.

 – You have drawn two paint chips. The exact colors on your chips must be used in your quilt, as much or as little as you want, but they have to be in there. (And no fair swapping colors because you don’t like yours, or don’t think the colors you drew go together – that’s why it’s called a challenge!) Please hang on to your chips so they can be displayed with your completed quilt. – This is the first time our guild is trying this so something in your quilt must be a first for you (first time using green, first time to hand appliqué, first embellishments, first time making a Lone Star using 1⁄4 inch diamonds, etc., etc.) – No one side, or the diameter, can be longer than 48 inches. – Have fun! Quilts are due at the October 2015 meeting.
