2020 Block of the Month

Bring your completed block (or blocks) to the guild meeting for a chance to win them all. The more blocks you bring, the more chances to win!

Keep making blocks — we will have a drawing for each month once we can all meet together again.

Summer Sun Block

August – Summer Sun

The BOM for August is a cheery way to bring a bit of that summer sunshine inside and chase away some of the blues we all can feel in this time of isolation.  Follow the colorway given in the pattern – yellow for the center, oranges for the points, and a light blue for the sky/background.

Directions are on the AQS Blog.

July – House Block

As we all stay safe at home as much as possible, please enjoy making this block your version of home. Use green for the grass, blue for the sky, and anything goes for the house.

Directions are on the on the Uncommon Threads Quilt Guild’s site.

June – Snail’s Trail

For June let’s make a Snail’s Trail block in blues and yellows. for the dark colors in the pictured block use blue fabrics and for the light color use yellow fabrics

Directions for his classic block are on All About Patchwork.

May – Young Man’s Fancy

This month’s block is a little more complicated than usual, but I figure many of you also have more time on your hands than usual.  No color limits other than to keep the background pieces light.  Have fun with it!

Directions are from Marcia Hohn at Quilter’s Cache.

Split Nine Patch

April – Split 9 Patch

Our April block is a split 9-patch. We’ll make it scrappy, but keep the dark fabrics in the blue family. Lights can be white or off-white, solids or small scale prints with a light background.

March – Tulip Block

Let’s make a colorful garden of tulips with our BOM for March.  Use a white background, green leaves, and your choice of color for the bloom, but make it a bright color – no shades or pastels.
This block was designed by Kristina of Center Street Quilts.  See her blog for the
